Miller Screen & Design’s history dates back to 1940 when our founder, Henry L. Miller, graduated from high school and went to work learning screen-making at a small company in Washington, PA. In 1946 he formed a partnership, West Penn Screen Service, located in Pittsburgh, PA, serving the glass and electronic industries.
With the invention of thermoplastic ceramic colors for the growing bottle industry in the early 1950’s, the need for expertly crafted stencils for multi-colored decorating intensified and the business grew rapidly.
The business partnership dissolved in the mid 1960’s, and in 1966 Miller Screen & Design, Inc. was established. From then until now it remains family owned and operated. Miller Screen & Design, Inc. continues to serve the glassware, plastic, electronics and flat glass industries, both nationally and internationally from its location in southwestern Pennsylvania. |
